Volunteer Counsellor Placements and Clinical Supervision

BRFT is an Integrative Therapeutic counselling service which offers Adolescents (16 – 17 years with parental consent) and Adult clients (18 years+) a reduced fee to see Professional Trainee Counsellors.

Prospective Clients:

Clients are asked to register their interest via email and an Initial Assessment will be conducted by the Clinical Manager at a mutual time. However, it is important that clients are aware that BRFT Counselling Service will not up and running until January 2021 and a waiting list will be created to accommodate this.

Prospective clients will be seen by a trainee counsellor for a minimum of 6 sessions and a maximum of 12 sessions with reviews at weeks four and eight. Additional sessions (up to 12) must be approved by either a Supervisor or the Clinical Manager. Trainee counsellors must be attending a two-year counselling training programme.

BRFT Counselling Service counsels clients with common mental health problems, relationship and family issues as well as stage of life issues. Clients will be assessed by the Clinical Manager and will be matched with an appropriate Placement Counsellor.
